FOCUS GROUP Photography We’re now hiring! Even though we can’t pay you, taking on a leadership role in our club would look great on your resume! We have several positions open. Bring your calendars and paper if so we will be planning up coming events and a events list with tentative dates for the rest of the semester.
That meeting is tonight 730-830 pm in the Art and Design Building same room Room number 1005.
Remember the photo contest is over spring break and ends the 20th. “Escape” Interpret it however you like 🙂
Spring Break Photo Contest: The theme of our first photo contest of the semester is “Escape” and submissions are due by Wednesday, March 20 at 4PM. The only rules are that the image must be submitted as either a .TIFF or .JPEG file and is at least 9 inches along the longest side with the resolution set at 300 dpi. You may submit up to 3 images to firstname.lastname@example.org for this contest. Winners will be announced at the first meeting following Spring Break. Good luck and happy shooting!
There will be some incentives for the top 10 and winner – top 10 winners get photos shown on all our sites – twitter, fb, blog,tumblr etc and the Meeting after winners are announced.
Winner will get photos shown on all our sites – twitter, fb, blog,tumblr etc and the Meeting after winners are announced and the winning photo shown at the meeting then they will receive their photo in print from SOA Print and a copy will be displayed in the Hallway of the Art and design bulding.
All photos must be in by the 20th at 4 and winners will be announced the following week on Wednesday. All photos will be judged by the leadership and photo faculty.
And then we have a upcoming speaker talk from a Army Combat Photographer , and the Photo walk on campus is coming up on the 16th of March ( i might see if we can do a edit session on Photoshop and then meet up at a restaurant after too 🙂 more info to come on both of these and our Cherry blossoms event shoot.
I also have more in the community events and jobs/opportunities/ and internships let me know if anyone is interested.
There is one event im going to need coordination and volunteers for and that is the SOA Art Olympics – heres a link to a article from last years if anyone wants more info right now were planning it for mid April to end of April
Also – The MFA students are looking for undergrad docents to lead tours of SoA during our Open Studios on April 6th. This is a really good opportunity for art students to meet people involved in the D.C. art scene. Let me know if you’re interested!
